Every street corner seems to have another cupcake shop on it these days, especially in NYC, and I haven’t been impressed by that many. Too sweet, too dry, frosting too sugar-crystal-y, etc. I am pretty indifferent to cupcakes.

However, there are two places that go on my “impressed” list.

One is Molly’s Cupcakes in Chicago, which used distinctively different batters and frostings for each cupcake.

Photo above (L-R): Peach cobbler, peanut butter nutella and blueberry cheesecake

I got the peach cobbler and it was fantastic! Especially because it wasn’t overly sweet.

The blueberry cheesecake cupcake looks askew in the photo above because we had already taken a bite by the time we took out the camera 🙂

Another fun thing about Molly’s is that instead of stools at the counter … there were swings!

More on my other favorite cupcake in a later post.

Happy eating!
